The basic method for intracranial\u00a0hematomas detection with NIR\u00a0spectroscopy is based on the\u00a0differential light absorption\u00a0associated with the injured versus\u00a0the non-injured parts of brain.<\/p>\n
The Infrascanner compares the left\u00a0and right sides of the brain in four\u00a0different areas. The NIRS sensor is\u00a0placed successively in the left and\u00a0right frontal, temporal, parietal,\u00a0and occipital areas of the head and\u00a0the absorbance of light at selected\u00a0wavelengths is recorded.<\/p>\n
